The short version

OCR runs on your machine. The screenshot never leaves it. On the bring-your-own-agent tiers the application does not report to us at all — we cannot see what is on your screen and cannot tell what application you are using it over. On the hosted-inference tiers, the text extracted from your screen is sent to our inference provider so it can be answered.

What stays on your device

  • Screenshots. Images of your screen are captured locally, read locally by the macOS Vision framework, and deleted. No image of your screen is uploaded anywhere, on any tier.
  • Temporary files. While an answer is in flight the application writes the extracted screen text, and briefly a screenshot, into a single private folder created with owner-only permissions. Every file it writes is deleted when the application exits — including when it is force-quit or killed — and the folder is swept again at the next launch in case a previous run was not given the chance.
  • Your settings. Text size, backdrop opacity, and the location of your AI CLI are local to your machine.

What leaves your device

Bring-your-own-agent tiers (Free, Connect)

The text extracted from your screen is passed to the AI CLI you have installed and pay for. It goes wherever your own provider sends it, under your own agreement with them. It does not pass through us and we never see it.

Hosted-inference tiers (Lite, Pro)

The text extracted from your screen is sent to our inference provider so it can be answered. This is the trade you are making by not running your own agent, and it is stated here rather than hedged. If you are looking at anything you are contractually or legally barred from sending to a third-party AI provider, do not use these tiers for it.

TODO: name the inference provider or providers, the regions requests are processed in, whether prompts are retained by them and for how long, and whether they are used for model training. None of that may be published until it is contractually settled.

Account and billing data

TODO: written once payments are live. It will cover the address you sign up with, the payment processor, what that processor holds, and how long we keep a subscription record after cancellation.

The waitlist

If you give us your email address on the waitlist or the Windows notification form, we store that address and which form it came from, and use it to send you one message when there is something to install. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own purposes. Reply to any message from us to be removed, or write to[email protected].

Analytics and telemetry

The application ships no analytics and no telemetry. This website is static and, at the time of writing, sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts.

TODO: if any analytics are ever added to this site, they are named here before they ship, not after.

Your rights

TODO: a lawyer writes this section. It needs the controller identity and address, the lawful basis for each processing purpose, retention periods, the full sub-processor list, international transfer mechanisms, the data subject rights available under GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA, and how to exercise them and complain.

Changes

This document will change — it is a draft. When it changes materially we will say so on this page and, for anyone on the waitlist or holding a subscription, by email.
